- Clear loose snow from both sides of the threshold and inspect the entire bottom seal for a continuous ice bond.

- After the seal releases, lift the disconnected door slowly and stop if it remains heavy or binds away from the floor.

Should I use hot water?
Hot water can damage a cold seal and usually refreezes around the threshold. Gentle controlled heat or a material-compatible de-icer is safer.
Why is the door still stiff after the ice melts?
Cold-hardened lubricant, stiff rollers, track resistance, or spring-balance trouble may be present in addition to the frozen seal.
